How to Get the Cheat Code Bar up in The Sims 2

Many video games feature cheat codes that make them easier to play, provide users with free items or unlock special effects and game modes. Different games require you to enter their cheat codes in different ways. In "The Sims 2," you enter cheat codes into a special console that you open by a combination of keystrokes on the keyboard. The same keystrokes open the cheat console in the core "Sims 2" game and all of its expansions.

Instructions

  Launch "The Sims 2" or one of its expansions. You will need to have the game disc for the most recently installed expansion in your computer's CD or DVD drive.

  Hold down the "Ctrl" and "Shift" keys on your keyboard. While holding these keys, press the "C" key and then release all of the keys. A small command prompt will appear on your screen.

  Input a cheat code and press "Enter." Keep in mind that cheat codes are case sensitive, and some cheat codes can only be used in certain areas of the game.
