Move Players Into Positional Categories
Moving players into specific categories based on their position (goalkeeper, defense, midfield, offense) can train the players in certain areas they need to maintain or improve. Within a short period of time, the statistics of players in all positions improve depending on which areas of training you increased or decreased their workload meter. Creating a new training schedule for defenders, midfielders, and forwards is important as you start off with only "Goalkeepers," "General," and "Rest."
Individual Training Drills
Although this may prove a time-consuming procedure, it could significantly benefit your players' statistics thus perform better on the pitch. Look at every player's statistics and pinpoint his strongest and weakest points. Within the training menu, create a schedule for every individual player based on his statistics.
Get the Best out of Potential Talent
Create individual training schedules for youth players who have the potential to progress, especially those labeled as a "Wonderkid." Putting them within their own individual training schedules heightens the chances they will fulfill their full potential.
Understand Your Coaches
Understand the qualities of the backroom staff at your club in order to discover which areas will benefit most or if you need to assign better coaches. Staff members work on a star system from 1 to 5 (5 being the best), and their level of expertise varies. At the start, all staff members are assigned to every possible training area which means you do not get their full working ability. The more stars within an area of training, the quicker your roster improves in that specific area.
Create Versatile Players
Analyzing player statistics is key for this to work effectively. There is an opportunity to train a player in a position in which he is not already considered a "Natural." This can be done within the "Training" section of a player's profile. This is particularly effective with young players as older players do not tend to adapt to new positions very well.
