True Crime: New York City PC Cheats

"True Crime: New York City," an action-adventure, open-world video game, is the sequel to the 2003 game "True Crime: Streets of LA." It was released in 2005 for PlayStation 2, Xbox and GameCube; a version was brought out for the PC in 2006. Cheats and hints for the PC version will help you unlock weapons, acquire driving skills and earn points.
  1. Detective Ranks

    • Advance to Detective Rank 1 to unlock the 6.5L V8 custom SUV, Nitro Boost driving skill, 5.56 mm carbine, 7.62 auto sniper and flashbangs. Detective Rank 2 earns the 5.4L SC V8 coupe, Side Wheelie driving skill, precision aim assist and four weapons: the tactical shotgun, 5.56 mm bullpup AR, 45-caliber special and a sledge hammer. Move up to Detective Rank 3 for a 2.5L L4 sedan, Peel Boost driving skill, zoom x 4, assault rifle, 4.6 mm PDW, tranquilizer and stun baton. Unlock a 6.0L V8 coupe, Switchblade driving skill, stun gun, 9mm SMG and a standard shotgun for advancing to Detective Rank 4. Stepping up to Detective Rank 5 rewards you with a 3.5L V6 sedan and the Insta-Turn driving skill.

    Cheat Codes

    • Go into the main menu while playing the game and select "Map." Hold "Shift" and "F" while pressing "Spacebar" three times for 100 bad cop points. Hold "Shift" and "F" and press "Delete" three times for 100 career points. Holding the same keys, press "Enter" three times to unlock every level.

    Arrest Anybody

    • Arrest anybody you like to improve both your good cop rating and career points by three. Ram into somebody's car with your vehicle so the driver gets out and approaches you. A health bar will appear over the angry citizen, meaning it is legal for you to beat him up and arrest him.

    Other Cheats

    • If your Rogue meter is high, head down into a subway station. Cops cannot follow you down, and your meter will decrease. Heavy weapons are automatically dropped when you change to a new weapon. Show your Police badge and press the up arrow while this is happening. The heavy weapon will stay in your inventory.

Shotguns reload slowly, which can be dangerous in a shootout. Run around as you reload, and the process will be a lot faster.
