How to Use GTA SA Mod Installer

"Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" is a video game by Rockstar Games available for the PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, PC and Mac. While popular on gaming consoles, only the PC version can use the "GTA SA Mod Installer, nicknamed "SAMI." Mods, short for modifications, allow players to alter certain aspects of the game, such as different cars, character models and gameplay. Using the SAMI requires that the player also download a specific mod to open using the installer.

Instructions

  Download the "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Mod Installer," also known as "SAMI." SAMI is available on numerous download and game modification sites. Install the program once it has been downloaded.

  Download a "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" mod. This can be any mod applicable to the PC game.

  Open SAMI and select "Install a Mod." In the first text box select the location of the "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" game. In the second text box click either "ZIP or RAR file" or "Folder," depending on what type of file the mod is. Click browse to locate the mod file.

  Click "continue" once the mod is done loading.

  Assign a name to the backup file in case something goes wrong with the mod. This is only needed if the "Backup Files Before Installation" option is enabled on the file browser screen. Click the "Install" button once the backup name has been entered.

  Press "Exit" to close the installer or "Play San Andreas" to begin the game with the mod installed.
