Fish Tycoon Walkthrough Hints

Getting Started

• Early in the game you should focus on making money, not on crossbreeding. Drop the starter eggs into Tank 1. Buy common eggs, drop them into Tank 1 and wait for them to hatch and grow into adults. Try to find two fish that are exactly the same or similar enough that you can breed them together successfully to create healthy babies. Once the offspring become adults, sell them at the store and use the money to buy more eggs. Keep breeding fish in this manner until you have enough money to buy Tank 2.

Research

• As soon as you have enough money, research Fish Environment. This allows you to breed more expensive species of fish and will prevent your fragile hybrid fish from dying. The second most important type of research is Food, which keeps fish fuller longer and makes them more resistant to disease. The third research type is Advertising, which brings in more visitors to the store.

Breeding

• Experiment with breeding different types of fish together to discover new species. Two fish of the same type will always produce a third fish of the same type. Two fish of different types may produce a hybrid fish. If two fish of different species are bred, you will create a third species. Your tank can only hold a limited number of fish. If your tank becomes full, no more babies will be born.

Fish Health

• Every fish has a health bar that should remain full unless the fish is hungry or sick. The exceptions are fragile hybrid fish, who are born without a full health bar and will lose health slowly over time. Fragile hybrids will die before they reach adulthood unless you purchase higher levels of Environment research. If a fish's life bar is red and almost empty, that fish is about to die and should be sold as quickly as possible.

Dead Fish

• As soon as a fish dies, dispose of it as soon as possible by dragging it onto the garbage bin icon. Dead fish will contaminate the tank and make other fish around them sick.

Adjust Pricing

• If nobody is buying your fish, try selling them for a lower price. On the other hand, if your fish are selling very quickly then you might be pricing them too low and you should charge a little more.

Magic Fish

• There are seven Magic Fish of Isola to find in the game through crossbreeding. The Magic Fish have beneficial properties that benefit other fish that are swimming in the same tank.
