How to Change Your Armor Color in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Like most modern PC games "Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" has downloadable, user-created modifications that offer features not included in the original game. The "Construction Set" mod package is essentially the same tool used by designers to create the game, and it allows users to edit the information contained within the game itself, including visual elements such as hair styles, weapon models and armor texture and color. Changing armor color in "Elder Scrolls IV" is a simple process, but the number of options makes it time-consuming.

Instructions

    • 1

Download and install the "Elder Scroll's: Construction Set" (see Resources) This free download makes it possible to edit the information within the game itself and change the color of any piece of armor contained in the game.

    • 2

Open the Construction Set program and locate the piece of armor you wish to modify.

    • 3

Select the color you wish to change the armor to.

    • 4

View the changes through the boxes on the right of the window. The armor is split between male and female armor models. The top box displays the changes made in the armor, "world model" is how the armor appears on the ground and "icon" is how the new armor appears in the menu.

    • 5

Save the new piece of armor under the original armor name. The change is permanent and the old model is overwritten.
