The Shattered Salute is a beginners' quest in the role-playing game World of Warcraft. The main purpose of the quest is to teach you how to use the salute action, which you will need as you progress in the game. You need to learn the Shattered Salute to identify fellow members of the Shattered Hand. You learn the Shattered Salute from Shenthul, a low-level rogue trainer who also helps you perform the Zando'zan, the Deep Cover and the Hinott's Assistance quests. Once you perform the Shattered Salute quest you will gain 160 points of experience and 14 points of reputation among Darkspear trolls.

Look for Shenthul in the Cleft of Shadow at the city of Orgrimmar. When you approach him he will start talking in the chat window.

Listen to Shenthul. When he finishes talking, target him with your mouse and type "/salute." If you are successful, the question mark above Shenthul will turn gold, and he will acknowledge the salute.

Speak to Shenthul again to complete the quest and receive the credit for the quest.
