How to Become a Superstar in the Sims

"The Sims: Superstar" PC game, one of the titles in "The Sims" series, allows gamers to create and control virtual people. Players are responsible for building or buying and furnishing a home, getting a job and keeping Sims happy and healthy. The Superstar version of the game features advanced career commands, and players can turn their Sims into celebrities. Becoming a "Superstar" doesn't happen immediately; many hours of gameplay are required, and certain steps must be followed to ensure success.

  Create your Sim, awarding your 25 attribute points over the categories of "neat," "outgoing," "active," "playful" and "nice." To become a superstar you need to award more points to the "outgoing," "active" and "nice" categories in order to create a Sim with adequate charisma. Do not leave the other attributes at zero, or you will find that your Sim will not be well-rounded enough to stay happy and hygienic.

  Care for your Sims basic needs. Before you can make time for fun activities or parties, you must make sure your Sim is clean, well-rested, well-fed and happy with his surroundings. The other needs of fun and socialization can be taken care of simultaneously while pursuing your chosen "superstar" career.

  Get a job in the "superstar" career track. You will need to make money in order to pay bills and buy food, so work at a career that will serve double duty by paying well and increasing your chances at becoming a superstar.

  Earn "skill" points by engaging in extracurricular activities. The categories are "cooking," "mechanical," "charisma," "body," "logic" and "creativity." While a well-rounded Sim is desirable, the "charisma," "body" and "creativity" skills should be cultivated if you are shooting for superstardom. You will have to purchase items related to each skill in order to cultivate it, and spend time working with the item -- for example, an easel will contribute to "creativity" and workout equipment to the "body" category.

  Make a lot of friends. Take trips to Studiotown and talk to as many people as possible. Talk to your neighbors and concentrate on building relationships. In order to become a superstar you must be well-known and well-liked. You need to make a trip to Studiotown every day in order to remain prominent. Becoming a superstar is your job, and you need to spend a lot of time keeping your social meter at a high level.

  Be patient and keep working at it. Explore Studiotown and participate in as many activities as possible. Build your skills and use your charisma to increase your star power. You will not become a superstar overnight. Keep an eye on your levels and respond accordingly.
