Joystick Tricks for FIFA 08 for the PC

All the joystick tricks in FIFA 08 are based on the perspective of your player as the game scrolls back and forth from left to right and right to left. If your player is running from left to right, moving your PC analog joystick to your player's left in the game would involve pushing up on the joystick, while moving it to your player's right would mean pushing down on the joystick.
  1. Stepover

    • Move the right analog joystick forward twice to perform the stepover. Your player will rotate one foot around the ball to shield it and prepare for a change of direction with the other foot.

    Sidestep

    • When running from left to right, move the right analog stick to your player's left and then to his right to sidestep a defender. Move the stick to his right and then to his left if you're going in the opposite direction. Your player will fake in one direction and then go the other way.

    Elastico

    • When going from left to right, move the right analog stick to your player's left and rotate it clockwise 180 degrees to perform the "elastico," also known as the "flick-flack" or "snake." The trick also can be performed when going in the opposite direction by moving the stick to your player's right and then counter-clockwise 180 degrees. Your player will push the ball forwards and right with the outside of his foot, and then (in the same movement) bring it back to the left with his instep.

    Flick Up

    • Move the right analog stick backwards and then forwards to perform the "flick up." This trick flicks the ball upwards, allowing you to evade slide-tackling defenders.

    Rainbow

    • When running from left to right, move the right analog stick to your player's left, then rotate it 180 degrees counter-clockwise to perform the "rainbow." The move can also be performed by doing the opposite when going the other way: move the right analog stick to his right, and then rotate it clockwise 180 degrees. Your player will use one foot to roll the ball up the back of his other foot, and then kick back and flick the ball up over his head back in front of him.

    Roulette

    • Move the right analog stick backwards and then rotate it 180 degrees clockwise to perform the "roulette," also known as the "Maradona" or "around the world." The trick can also be performed by doing the opposite and moving the right analog stick backwards and then counter-clockwise 180 degrees. Your player will take a step forward with one foot while rotating his body 360 degrees and drag the ball forward with the underside of his foot as he spins.

    Rabona Cross

    • To do a Rabona cross, move the right analog stick backwards and press A for a cross, and then move the joystick again either to your player's right or left, depending on which side of the field you are on and where you want the Rabona cross to go. Your player will plant the leg he'd normally perform a cross with, and then swing his opposite foot around the back of his plant leg, crossing his legs and chipping the ball for the cross.
