How to Get the Split Personality Badge in Spore

In the life simulation game "Spore," you control all aspects of a species' evolution, from single-celled organism to space-faring civilization. One of the features in the game is the ability to earn badges, like the "Split Personality" badge, earned for changing your race's philosophy. Making that kind of a change can be confusing, and so the badge may seem out of reach. However, if you know how to make that change, the badge is yours.

Instructions

  Play "Spore" through to the "Space Stage." If you continue an organism until then, you may have one of several different philosophies; however, if you skip straight to the last stage, you will be a "wanderer" type.

  Travel through the universe until you find a culture with a different philosophy to yours, ideally with a philosophy you want to change to.

  Check the Empire-Tier value. On the race's stats, there will be a star with a number in it. If the star is 4 or 5, skip the next step.

  Assist the empire in growing by suggesting planets to attack and helping. They need to raise their level to 4 or 5. Alternately, simply find another race with a 4 or 5 tier value.

  Become the race's ally. Each race may have different conditions, and you need to choose the text option that most resembles "form an alliance." Complete those conditions and forge an alliance.

  Open the "Missions" screen and select "Teach me your ways." A mission description will appear.

  Complete the "Teach me your ways" mission, and your race will change philosophies. Once you change philosophies, you receive the Level 1 "Split Personalities" badge.
