How to Evolve Gale in 'Castlevania: Curse of Darkness'

Evolving Gale to Brow Level

  Begin playing the game. In the beginning, your Devil-type form is called Gale. This is the basic form that is an innate skill; you do not need to earn the Gale skill.

  Gather as many Evo Crystals as you can while playing. You get these crystals by finding them and by defeating enemies. Get 200 of these crystals to evolve your Devil form into the Brow-type. The Brow abilities include Scissor Magic Circle and Needle Magic Circle. These increase your ability to get into small places through crevices and holes.

  Fight using as many different combinations of fighting moves as you can. Practice new moves on some of the lower-level monsters until you feel confident, because in order to acquire some of these items, you will need to be able to defeat a number of different enemies that are faster and stronger than some of the initial ones you encounter.

Gathering the First Needed Items

  Gather a trident, a versatile spear, a devil's vein and a dark crystal to evolve from the Brow-type devil to the type known as "The End." The trick is that none of these four items is laying about in the game; each items is made up of a group of other items that are in the game. To defeat the final enemies in the "The End" portion of the game, you will need two of each of these items to get the Chauve-Souris and the Death's Scythe.

  Make a Sasumata. Sasumata is the item you get when you have collected a ceremonial tool and spirit of Fuji. To get a ceremonial tool, steal it from Vassago. You can find Vassago in the forest, Cordova Town or at Dracula's Castle. To get a Spirit of Fuji, steal it from a wizard or one of the lesser demons that surround Garibaldi's Temple.

  Steal an aquamarine from the Fishman at Mortiva Aquaduct and some Ether from the Lizard Shaman in Cordova Town. When you have the Sasumata, ether and aquamarine, these three items will form your trident.

  Make the Versatile Spear. This item is made by making the trident and gathering three additional items: the Naginta, Ether and Phlogiston. The Naginta is made by stealing another ceremonial tool and spirit of fuji to make another Sasumata and combining it with steel that you can obtain by killing monsters. Steal the Phlogiston from the Flame Demon in the forest.

Evolving to 'The End'

  Obtain the Devil's Vein. You can get this item during your first fight with the Issac character by stealing it from him during the fight. If you have already fought Issac once, you will have to wait until Issac goes into the Boss Rush mode.

  Obtain the Dark Crystal. You can get the Dark Crystal by stealing it from the Evil Core located right before the Legion area. Locate the four squares with a plus sign in between them. Look for the room in the southwest corner and use your Magic Circle to get under the door.

  Repeat the collection of each of these items if you are attempting to make a Devil's Scythe in addition to the Chauve-Souris. Once you have all these items, you will have evolved to the level known as "The End," and defeat the final monsters in the game, which will fittingly be the end.
