How to Find Time Codes in PCSX2 Games

The "PCSX2" software is an emulator for the PC that allows players to play PS2 games on their computer. The software is ideal for PS2 owners who cannot travel with their system or whose system is being repaired by Sony. By default, the program does not have a cheat code system built into it, so you will need to download a third-party program called "Cheat Engine." Once you do, you will be able to search for a variety of codes that can change everything from resetting a clock timer to the speed of the gameplay.

Instructions

    • 1

Download and install "Cheat Engine" from the software's official site (see Resources). The program is free to download and typically only takes a couple of minutes to install.

    • 2

Start "PCSX2" and load the game you want to play.

    • 3

Start "Cheat Engine" by double-clicking its desktop icon or clicking on it from the start menu. The program will boot to its main menu, which will display all of the games that have cheat codes.

    • 4

Scroll through the list of games and find the game you are playing. Double-click the game to open it and view the available cheats for it.

    • 5

Scroll through the list of cheats to see if one alters the flow of time in the game. Double-click the cheat to activate it. Because the game acts as an add-on for "PCSX2," you will automatically see the cheat occur in-game. To turn off the cheat, double-click the cheat again.
