The Oriental Sword
There is a hidden oriental sword in the game that is more powerful than the sword you start with. To access the oriental sword, enter the level "Temple Terror" and proceed to the area where you are trapped inside of a corridor. There are a couple of archers and enemies pouring down off the walls. Clear the area and there will be a chest on one side of the room. Open the chest to acquire the oriental blade.
Pintel Cheat
When you fight the boss called Pintel, throwing objects at him may end up turning into a difficult and drawn-out battle. A really cheap and easy way to defeat him is to just cut the ropes on the chandelier above his head. The chandelier will fall down, crush him and win you the fight.
Sword Upgrade
A second upgrade for your sword can be located at the "Sky, Sand and Gold" area. In the area where you just begin to turn back from the gold that is booby-trapped, you will come across a little river. Take a look around until you spot a gate on the river. Go through the gate and open up the chest inside to acquire the upgrade.
Fat Boss Battle Tips
The Fat Boss in the Tortuga area can be difficult to beat. A really easy way to take him out is to bait him into launching an attack on you and quickly run around behind him and stab him in the back repeatedly. Be ready to dodge if you see him jump onto a building. He always throws bombs when he climbs on top of something. Wait for him to land and repeat the process.
