Shrek the Third PlayStation 2 Hints

You can spice up your "Shrek the Third" game-play experience with a few cheat codes and buying any of the large number of extras. "Shrek the Third" was released for the PlayStation 2 in May 2007. Reviews for the game were generally negative. They pointed out poor graphics and game-play.
  1. Cheats and Codes

    • Several codes are available to get more gold and costumes. From the Gift Shop, press "up," "up," "down," "up," "right" then "left" to get 10,000 gold coins. From the main menu, press "right," "right," "down," "left," "left," "up" then "right" to get the first secret costume, and "left," "left," "up," "right," "right," "up" then "left" to get the second. From the main menu press "left," "down," "right," "up," "right," "right" then "right" to unlock the bonus "Ogre Babies" level where you can see Shrek and Fiona's ogre babies.

    Difficulty and Bonus Hints

    • All of the extras are available in the Gift Shop, and all of them cost gold coins. Unlock the "Charming" difficulty mode for 15,500 and "Grimm" difficulty mode for 1,500. Get bonus damage for your character for 10,500, or bonus fairy dust for 7,700.

    Commentaries

    • The Gift Shop also sells developer commentaries for those interested in the process of game design. The talks are geared to exact levels in "Shrek the Third." The "Docks" commentary costs 1,000 gold coins, the "Academy Grounds" commentary costs 1,500 and the "Ice Lake" cost 3,000. The "Evil Queen's Castle" and "Stromboli's Workshop" scenes cost 5,000 each, and "Rundown Streets" cost 6,000.

    Multiplayer Items

    • Two characters, a map, and a castle to use in multiplayer are only available through the Gift Shop. Get the "Cyclops" character for 1,500 gold coins or the "Dragon Keep" castle for 1,600. The "Dragon Keep" map can be had for 1,350 and the "Dwarves" character for 2,400.

    Costumes

    • The Gift Shop also sells extra costumes for many of the characters. Shrek's costumes include the "Pirate Outfit" for 4,250 gold coins, the "Knight Armor" for 3,500, the "Swim Trunks" for 3,350 and the "Regal" for 3,200. Donkey's "Dragon Disguise" costume costs 3,650. Puss's "Evil Knight Disguise" costume costs 2,850. Sleeping Beauty's "Gown" costume costs 2,500. Fiona's "Funeral Dress" costume costs 2,150.
