How to Put Cheat Codes in for PS2

Many games made for the Playstation 2 have secret cheat codes that you can enter to unlock certain items, characters, levels and conditions. Cheat codes can help you easily obtain rewards found later in the game, or make the game less difficult by granting you infinite health and ammo. You can enter most cheat codes either when the game begins or during the game itself.

  Visit an online game website and select "PS2" and the game you want to enter the cheats for. Most online game websites, such as IGN or Gamespot, have a portion of their site dedicated to cheats for specific games.

  Turn on your PS2 and insert the game you want to play.

  Enter the cheats. Depending on the game, and which cheat you're entering, you can enter some cheats at the main menu, such as "Need for Speed Underground 2." You must enter the cheat codes during the actual game play for other games, such as "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas."
