PC Cheats
Activate "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" cheats on your computer by typing in the correct words any time during gameplay. Three different codes provide weapon sets: "thugstools", "professionaltools" and "nuttertools" (for light, medium and heavy weapons, respectively). Type the word "aspirine" to receive full health and "preciousprotection" to get full armor benefits. Raise or decrease your wanted level by typing "youwonttakemealive" or "leavemealone," respectively.
Vehicle cheats create certain types of drivable vehicles, so you can take your pick of the car you want. The word "panzer" creates a Rhino. Type "travelinstyle" or "gettherequickly" to create a Bloodring Banger.
A series of cheats provides faster and faster vehicles. "Gettherefast," "getthereveryfastindeed" and "getthereamazinglyfast" will create a Sabre Turbo, Hotring Racer 1 and Hotring Racer 2. Type "rockandrollcar" to get a Limo, or "rubbishcar" to create a Trashmaster.
"Bigbang" will blow up nearby drivers, and "miamitraffic" will make other drivers more aggressive, if you want to make the game more dangerous. Type "ahairdresserscar" to make all the cars pink, or "iwantitpaintedblack" to turn them all black. If you enter "comeflywithme," all cars will have the ability to fly. Transform boats into flying vehicles with the word airship. Get to your destination quickly by typing "greenlight," which will make all the traffic lights green. Type seaways to make your car float and drive over water.
Cheat codes in Vice City even allow you to change the weather. Make the day sunny and clear with "alovelyday," or type "abitdrieg" to make it gray and overcast. With "cantseeathing" typed in, the weather will be foggy, while "catsanddogs" makes it storm heavily. Speed up time itself with the word l"ifeispassingmeby," or slow it down with "booooooring" (six O's).
PlayStation 2 Cheats
Use "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" cheat codes on PlayStation 2 by punching a sequence of buttons in a specific order. Cheat codes may be enabled any time during game play; it is not necessary to pause the game to make them work.
Three different weapon sets are available through cheat codes. Hit the buttons "R1, R2, L1, R2, Left, Down, Right, Up, Left, Down, Down, Left," "R1, R2, L1, R2, Left, Down, Right, Up, Left, Down, Down, Down" or "R1, R2, L1, R2, Left, Down, Right, Up, Left, Down, Right, Up" to receive each of the three different weapon sets. Receive armor by hitting "R1, R2, L1, X, Left, Down, Right, Up, Left, Down, Right, Up" in that order. Turn all the cars in the city black with "Circle, L2, Up, R1, Left, X, R1, L1, Left, Circle." The cars will blow up if you hit the "R2, L2, R1, L1, L2, R2, Square, Triangle, Circle, Triangle, L2, L1" buttons in sequence.
Make the weather cloudy and gray by hitting "R2, X, L1, L1, L2, L2, L2, Triangle." The day will become foggy with the code "R2, X, L1, L1, L2, L2, L2, X." All the cars will fly if you hit "Right, R2, O, R1, L2, Down, L1, R1."
Climb inside a fire truck and hit R3 to start special firefighter missions. Use the Circle button to activate the firehose while inside the vehicle. Once you reach Level 12 of the missions, you will be fireproof when outside of vehicles.
Punch the buttons "Up, Right, Right, L1, Right, Up, Square, L2," or punch "Down, R1, Circle, L2, L2, X, R1, L1, Left, Left" to create a driveable Bloodring Racer. Hit "R1, Circle, R2, Right, L1, L2, X, X, Square, R1" or "R2, L1, Circle, Right, L1, R1, Right, Up, Circle, R2" to get one of the two Hotring Racers. If you hit the buttons "Circle, Circle, L1, Circle, Circle, Circle, L1, L2, R1, Triangle, Circle, Triangle" on your game controller, you will get a Rhino. Hitting "Circle, R1, Circle, R1, Left, Left, R1, L1, Circle, Right" will create a Trashmaster.
Raise your health by hitting the "R1, R2, L1, Circle, Left, Down, Right, Up, Left, Down, Right, Up" buttons. If you punch in "R1, R1, Circle, R2, Up, Down, Up, Down, Up, Down," you will lower your wanted level. Get perfect vehicle handling by hitting "Triangle, R1, R1, Left, R1, L1, R2, L1."
Secrets and Hints
Increase your maximum available health by completing the pizza missions. You'll find the missions by taking the delivery moped behind the pizza restaurant. Hit the "R3" button to begin missions. Completing 55 of the missions will boost your health from 100 to 150.
Hit "R3" after stealing the ambulance to begin paramedic missions. After reaching level 12, you'll have unlimited sprint and stamina power.
You'll find the secret katana weapon in the back room of the Tarbrush Cafe in the Northpoint Mall. The knife is found in the southeast corner of the alley right next to the starting area. The sea plane is found on the studio on Prawn Island, near the docks at the back of the studio. You cannot gain the plane without completing the Dildo Dodo studio mission.
