Map Coordinates
If you want to display the in-game coordinates of your location in any given level, simply pause the game and press "Square," "Triangle," "Circle," "Circle," "L1," "Triangle, "Circle," "Circle," "Triangle" and "Square." Your current coordinates will then be displayed in the bottom right-hand section of your screen. This can be useful during online matches if you want organize a group of friends for a particular assault against your enemies, or during story mode to just gain your bearings.
Difficulty Modes
If you're tired of the basic difficulty modes offered in "SOCOM 3: U.S. Navy SEALs," you can access additional difficulty modes by completing the game's story mode. Complete the game once on the "Commander" difficulty setting to unlock the "Captain" difficulty setting, and complete the game on the "Captain" difficulty setting to unlock the "Admiral" difficulty setting.
Weapons
Three new and powerful weapons can be unlocked by completing "SOCOM 3: U.S. Navy SEALs" using the "Admiral" difficulty setting. These weapons are the IW-80 A2, STG-77 and the ZX25 Airburst; all of which will be available for both single and multiplayer use.
Soldiers and Suits
New soldiers can be unlocked in "SOCOM 3: U.S. Navy SEALs" by completing various tasks in the game. For instance, completing all of the basic training missions in North Africa will unlock the "Killjoy" character, completing all of the missions in South Asia using the "Captain" or "Admiral" difficulty setting will unlock the terrorist character "Hari Raman," and completing all of the missions in Poland using any difficulty setting will unlock the "Coldkill" character.
Additional combat uniforms can be unlocked as well. Unlock the jungle ghillie suit for both the SEALs and the terrorists by completing North Africa using the difficulty setting of "Commander," "Captain" or "Admiral." The desert ghillie suit can be unlocked for both the SEALs and the terrorists by completing South Asia using the difficulty setting of "Commander," "Captain" or "Admiral." Finally, the winter ghillie suit for both the SEALs and the terrorist can be unlocked by completing Poland using the difficulty setting of "Commander," "Captain" or "Admiral."
