Instructions
Insert the ̶0;GameShark Version 5̶1; disc. It is labeled as ̶0;GameShark Game Codes with Media Player,̶1; rather than by the version number.
Insert the memory card into Memory Slot 1 on the console. This is not required, but will allow you to save the new codes so they will not need to be re-entered again.
Turn on the PlayStation 2 console. The GameShark main menu will appear after a few seconds. The menu uses the ̶0;X̶1; button to make menu selections with the PS2 controller. The ̶0;Enter̶1; key is used instead if using the USB keyboard.
Select ̶0;Expert Cheat Mode̶1; from the main menu. The ̶0;Auto Cheat Mode̶1; does not allow users to use manual code entry to add new cheats. A list of game titles will appear.
Scroll down to the title of the game for which you want to enter new codes. Do not press the ̶0;X̶1; button in this case.
Press the ̶0;Right̶1; button to open the code menu for that game.
Press the ̶0;Circle̶1; button to open a sub-menu while on the code menu. The ̶0;Insert̶1; key is used to open this sub-menu when using the keyboard.
Select ̶0;Add̶1; from the sub-menu. This will open a prompt to add a cheat description.
Enter a cheat description using the onscreen keyboard. You can directly enter text if using the USB keyboard. This is the text that will appear on the code menu for the game to activate or deactivate the cheat. You will return to the game-code menu when finished.
Highlight the cheat description that was just entered.
Press the ̶0;Right̶1; button with the cheat description highlighted.
Press the ̶0;Circle̶1; button or ̶0;Insert̶1; key to bring up a sub-menu. Select ̶0;Add̶1; from that menu. The manual code entry prompt will appear.
Enter the code using the onscreen keyboard or a USB keyboard. The code will now be added to the code list for the game.
