Sims 2 Pets: How to Open the Cheat Menu for the PS2

The Sims 2: Pets introduces furry family members to the popular life simulation game. You can now add cats and dogs to your families for new interactions, games and skills. As in all games in the Sims series, you'll be able to enter cheat codes to help you out when the going gets rough. Unlike the games on the PC, though, on the PS2 you won't pull up a cheat entry menu in the game. Instead you'll use a cheat to create a "cheat gnome" item that you can interact with to enable cheats.

Instructions

- 1
  Press the following button combination at any time during live game play (not while on a menu or loading screen): "L1, L1, R1, X, X, up." This will bring the cheat gnome item to your Sim's home.

  Enter a cheat button combination. For example, enter "triangle, up, left, down, right" for the "10,000 simoleons" cheat.
- 3
  Interact with the cheat gnome to enable the cheat you entered in Step 2 (you can continue interacting with the cheat gnome to use the cheat code over and over again, rather than tap the button combination each time).
