Number
In the first "God of War" game, players can earn a secret number after beating the game on God mode, the hardest level of difficulty. The number is actually a telephone number that will give players the full information on the fate of God of War's last boss. The European version of the game instead employs a special scene in the game to tell this story after taking down the Ares and Minotaur status.
Orbs
During the Challenge of Atlas in the first "God of War," players can obtain an unlimited supply of orbs. To do this, go across the bridge and past the saw room until reaching an enemy near the tower. Rather than killing him, go to a nearby ladder and stand between it and the enemy. Kill the enemy using the square-square-triangle combination, but make sure that this is done above the ladder. When the enemy is killed, it will stay between the ground and the ladder and release red orbs repeatedly. To get the maximum amount of orbs, which is 199 complete red bars, it will take nearly 10 minutes.
Extras
"God of War II" features extra parts of the game that can be unlocked by doing well in the game's other aspects. After beating the game on any level of difficulty, there will be a section called Treasures that appears on the main menu. In this section, a new feature called Challenge of the Titans will appear that lets players try seven new missions. Getting the rank of Titan on the Challenge of the Titans missions will unlock a new mode of play called Arena of the Fates. Arena of the Fates lets players practice their moves by choosing the specifics of their battles, such as their health, ability, and enemies.
Code
"God of War II" features a high definition mode of play that can be obtained by entering a code right before the "Sony Computer Entertainment Presents" title comes up. To get the high definition mode, press the L1, L2, L3, circle and square buttons at the same time. The text in the game will temporarily become purple if the code is entered correctly.
