Unlockabe Costumes and Characters
God of War can be considered a very challenging game when dealing with the variety of enemies and puzzles that you face. Defeating these challenges on different difficulty levels will unlock specials items and rankings.
To unlock the God of War costume from the first video game, complete the game on any difficulty setting. Completing the game one time through will also unlock the Hydra costume. Completing the game on the Titan difficulty will unlock Hercules as a playable character. The dark odyssey costume becomes available if you can complete God of War 2 on the God difficulty level. To play as Kratos in his general outfit, collect 20 Cyclops eyes. Completing the video game on Titan mode will also unlock the goddess Athena. Receiving the God ranking in the challenge mode will give you the God Armor which doubles all of your stats. Completing the video game, then starting a new save file with the bonus options will allow you to fight using the Blades of Olympus, which are the strongest weapons available to Kratos.
Additional Unlockables
Playing through God of War 2 will reveal additional secrets and playing modes for you to enjoy. Beating the game on any difficulty level will unlock the story mode, where you can view all the in game movies one after the other. You can unlock the high resolution version of God of War 2 by completing the video game. When you complete your first play through of God of War 2, the Challenge of the Titans awaits you. This play mode allows you to face specific enemies in certain formats. Completing these challenges will unlock additional items and secrets.
