Maximize Your Stats
Every time you play "Hot Wheels: Beat That" on the PS2, you're awarded different scores based on how many points you accumulate in each levels. Points are awarded based on how you finish in the tournament, your driving style and the speed you hit on the level, as well as other factors. It can take some time to build up your score, especially if you're new to the game. An easy way to skip past that is to use a specific cheat designed to maximize your stats. Before starting the game, you're asked to pick a car from the main menu. Instead of automatically picking a car, scroll through the options and stop at the one you like. Before you press the "Select" button, hold down the "Left Bumper" while pressing "Y," "X," "Up," "X" and "Down," then release the "Left Bumper," and you'll max out your stats when you start the game.
Unlockable Cars
There are certain cars in "Hot Wheels: Beat That" that you can't play until you unlock them. For the Burlesque and 16 Angles, you'll need to finish the entire game in Turbo Mode; Turbo Mode also unlocks Super Tsunami. For The Demon, you need to play and finish the first and second tournaments on Turbo and the Bedroom. You can also unlock Drift King's 24/7 by finishing the first tournament on Turbo and the Bedroom. It doesn't matter where you finish in the tournaments; as long as you play, you unlock the cars.
Miscellaneous Cheats
Another "Hot Wheels: Beat That" cheat unlocks the Shadow MK11 car. When you reach the car menu, hold down the "Left Bumper" and press "Up," "Y," "X," "Down," "X," "Y" and "Up," then release the "Left Bumper." The car will then appear on your list. You can also unlock the 24/7 vehicle, which is a Hot Wheels exclusive car. If you play in the Bedroom Tournament and finish in third place or higher, you'll automatically unlock the car.
