Cheats for Guitar Hero 1 on PS2

Guitar Hero is a game that was developed by Harmonix Music Systems. It was released for the Playstation 2 in 2005. The game allows players to play the guitar parts of 47 different songs using a special guitar-shaped controller. There are several different cheat codes in the game. These codes can unlock game content, prevent you from losing or change the game's visuals.
  1. Code Entry

    • The cheat codes in Guitar Hero are entered at the main menu. This is the menu that appears when you start the game where you choose a gameplay mode, such as Career or Tutorial. Each code must be entered in its entirety within a few seconds. There will be an audible indication if the code has been entered correctly. Entering the code in a second time will turn it off.

    Full Rock Meter

    • The rock meter in Guitar Hero is an indication of how well the player is doing on a particular song. Playing the correct notes fills up the rock meter. Playing the wrong notes or missing notes depletes the rock meter. There is a cheat that will keep the rock meter full at all times regardless of how well the player is doing. This effectively prevents the player from being able to lose. The code for this cheat is Y, B, O, O, B, B, Y, O.

    Unlock Code

    • Players earn money from completing songs in Career mode. This money can be used in the store to buy new guitars, characters and songs. Unlocking everything in the game requires the player to earn the highest possible rating on every song on every difficulty level. This can be completely bypassed by using the unlock all cheat. The code to unlock everything in the game is Y, O, B, B, O, Y, Y.

    Guitar Codes

    • There are two guitars for the player character that can only be accessed by using a code. The first is the air guitar, which is a completely transparent guitar. The code for the air guitar is O, O, B, Y, O. The second allows the player character to use a Guitar Hero controller in place of an actual guitar. The code for this is B, O, Y, B, B.

    Venue Codes

    • There are three codes that alter the visuals of the venue. The code to remove the venue entirely is B, Y, O, B, Y, O. The other two codes change the appearance of the crowd at the venue. The code to give the crowd monkey heads is B, O, Y, Y, Y, B, O. The code to give the crowd skull heads is O, Y, B, B, O, Y, B, B.
