How to Mod Your PS2 Games

A mod in the Playstation 2 gaming community is a term for modifying a video game to use a particular cheat of your choosing. You can become invincible, have infinite money or maybe even have the ability to fly. Modding PS2 video games is a popular method of getting past difficult tasks or bosses, or to enhance your gaming experience should you grow tired of doing redundant activities within the boundaries of the game. All you need is an Action Replay MAX from your local video game retailer to get started.

  Insert the Action Replay MAX CD into your Playstation 2 console and turn it on. A start up menu will show up, indicating that the disc is now loading into the system. When it is finished a list of available games will appear on screen.

  Select the game you wish to mod by scrolling through the titles. Once you've chosen your game, a new window will open up prompting you to check mark any preset codes.

  Add your own code manually if the cheat you want does not exist. You can go to www.codejunkies.com for any other codes not provided by Action Replay MAX. Once you have input a title for your cheat with the proper code sequence, save it.

  Launch the game from the Action Replay MAX top menu. It will prompt you to switch and insert the proper game CD for the game you wish to play. When you have done so press "OK" to boot the PS2 game with the cheat codes.

  Play the game as you would normally, ensuring that the codes you have used are working properly. If the desired cheats are working for you then you have successfully modified your PS2 game.
