How to Get the Masamune in Final Fantasy XII

In the Sony PlayStation 2 game "Final Fantasy XII," you take control of hardscrabble Vann, Princess Ashe and a cast of other characters in an attempt to thwart the Archadian Empire, which has taken control of the Dalmascan throne. You must travel across the land, meeting new people and battling a variety of enemies. An important and devastating weapon is the Masamune, which you can obtain by winning a battle on the Big Bridge.

Instructions

  Speak to Montblanc. He will tell you about a man stealing a powerful sword from another swordsman. This character was last seen on a bridge near the Lhusu Mines.

  Warp to Transitway 2 in the mines by using an orange save crystal. Head west to the Big Bridge to find your enemy. You will face two characters, Enkidu and Gilgamesh.

  Cast "Slow" on Gilgamesh to neutralize him and focus your party's attacks on Enkidu.

  Use physical attacks on Enkidu to wear him down and then take on Gilgamesh, who will take off with Enkidu once his hit points (HP) get low.

  Pursue the two through the Lhusu Mines. Use the Site 11 key, which you got from the earlier Antlion Infestation hunt, to open the Site 11 door. Save your game before going deeper into the mines and follow the path to reach Gilgamesh and Enkidu again.

  Neutralize Enkidu by using a variety of magical attacks such as "Poison," "Slow" or "Blind." His attacks in this second battle are quite powerful; they can seriously damage members of your party with each attack.

  Attack Gilgamesh with more brute force. This time, when Gilgamesh's hit points get low, his defensive abilities increase. Use one of your party member's "Quickening" abilities to string together multiple attacks and finish off this foe.

  Visit Montblanc again to get your bounty: the Masamune sword and 10,000 gil.
