Things You'll Need
Instructions
Download the program "San Andreas Mod Installer" from one of several Grand Theft Auto mod-enabled Web sites, such as www.thegtaplace.com.
Extract the file to your desktop and install it. A shortcut icon will appear on your desktop.
Go back to www.thegtaplace.com and click "Downloads" near the top of the screen. On the next screen, click "GTA San Andreas."
Select any of the categories that you would like to modify. The menu consists of bikes, buildings, vehicles and weapons.
Click "Download" after you have made your selections.
Create a new folder on your desktop and name it depending on what mod you downloaded. For example, if you downloaded a car mod, name the folder "Cars." This will help you keep track of what mods you have downloaded.
Open any downloaded mods using WinZip or WinRAR and extract the two files ending in .dff and .txd to the folder you created.
Open the San Andreas Mod Installer and click "Install a Mod."
Select "Folder" under "Mod Location" on the next screen and click "Browse." Scroll down to the folder containing the mods you downloaded.
Click "Continue" twice and type in a custom name for your mod. Then select whatever in-game object you want to replace with your mod. For example, if you downloaded a car mod, you would select a car that already exists in the game for that mod to replace.
Click "Install" at the bottom of the screen. Your game will now contain any mods you installed to it.
