How to Set Up Guitar Hero: World Tour on the PS2 for Four People

"Guitar Hero: World Tour" is the first game in the series to support up to four players at a time. This can be done only in cooperative game modes. Solo Career mode is restricted to one player, while Versus modes support only two players. The four players are always divided into vocals, guitar, bass and drums. It is not possible for two players to use the same instrument in the cooperative modes.

"Guitar Hero" wireless receiver
"Guitar Hero" microphone
PlayStation 2 controller
2 "Guitar Hero" guitar controllers
"Guitar Hero" drum controller

Instructions

  Plug the wireless receiver into the USB port of the PlayStation 2 console.

  Plug the microphone into the second USB port of the PS2. It does not matter which port is used for the receiver or microphone.

  Plug a PS2 controller into the first controller port. This controller is used by the player using the microphone to navigate the game menus. The guitar, bass and drum players use their instrument controllers.

  Turn on the console with the "Guitar Hero: World Tour" disc inserted.

  Press any game mode from the main menu, except for Solo Career or Battle modes. Those two modes do not allow four players at the same time. This step can be performed by any player.

  Press the green button on the three other controllers in the "Band Select" screen. The drum and vocal player automatically get assigned to the appropriate instrument in the band. Players using a guitar controller can choose between the guitar or bass role in the band because both use the same controller. There must be one guitar and one bass player. If one player chooses to play the guitar, the second player is automatically assigned the bass.

  Pick a song from the song list that appears after the "Band Select" screen to start playing.
