How to Run PS2 DVD Games With Swap Magic

The Playstation 2 is a gaming console that plays NTSC or PAL formatted games from a DVD drive. If you use a PS2 that was bought in North America, you are using an NTSC formatted PS2. If you bought your PS2 anywhere else, your console uses the PAL format. The Swap Magic DVD is used to play backup copies of games and imported games that are not in the format of your PS2. This makes PAL DVDs able to be read by a PS2 bought in the U.S. and vice versa.

     Look on the bottom of your PS2 to find the format of your console. Buy the Swap Magic kit that is applicable to your console.

     Insert the Swap Magic 3 disc into your PS2 and wait for the console to boot the disk.

     Use your controller to click on the "Load Program" option in the window.

     Open your disk drive and swap the Swap Magic disk for your imported or backup copy of your game.

     Wait for your game to load.
