How to Kill the Two Giants in Resident Evil 4

So you have reached the two giants in Chapter 4 of Resident Evil 4 and you need a little help. Who could blame you? Those two can be quite difficult opponents. But with a little patience and strategy, you can make short work of them. The key is in isolating your foes and taking them out one at a time. The steps to defeating the giants are the same whether you are playing on the PlayStation 2 or the Nintendo Wii.

Instructions

  Approach the door on the opposite side of the cavern to trigger the giants. This will prompt them to appear and attack.

  Rush to the ladder in the southeast corner and make your way up quickly. Be aware that the giants are trying to shake you off the platform and you need to perform the next step quickly.

  Grab the zip-line by pressing the action button. You will slide down the line and reach a lever.

  Press the action button to grab the lever. The camera angle will change and you will be able to see the giants approaching you. Before they reach you, they will have to cross over a large, circular hatch in the flooring. Wait until one of the giants is standing on the hatch and then press the action button. The floor will open up and the giant will fall helplessly into the lava below. Be aware, this trick will only work to kill one of the giants.

  Run as far away from the giant as you can and then use your shotgun to weaken him. Fire as many shots as you feel you can, but be sure to give yourself time to escape when he gets close. Repeat this procedure until the giant is on his knees.

  Get behind the giant as quickly as possible and then press the action button. You will pounce onto the giant's back. Once he's on on his back, begin to press the action button repeatedly as fast as you can. This step and the previous step will need to be repeated until the giant is dead. If you are not very fast at pressing buttons, this could take a bit of time, but otherwise you may be lucky enough to finish him off in about three attempts.

  Be ready for the giant to attack one last time after you have killed him. This happens pretty quickly, so be ready. The giant will make his move and you have to dodge his attack. After this, he is really dead; now feel free to loot the place.
