How to Build the Perfect Car in IHRA Motorsports Drag Racing 2

"IHRA Motorsports Drag Racing 2," produced by Bethesda Softworks, is a drag racing simulator where players can customize cars to their liking. Unlike previous versions of "IHRA Drag Racing," in this version there is no money to be earned in order to customize and tweak your car. There are also many tuning options available right away to fit any player's racing type. As there are many options, there is no true "perfect" car in the game as players of one type might find certain options better than others. However, some ideas can be helpful no matter the style.

Instructions

    • 1

Play some races with a few stock cars. Notice their gear and tuning options, seeing what you liked about them and what you didn't like. Also get a feel for the game.

    • 2

Decide which vehicle category you want to use. There are a total of six: Classic, Funny Car, Pro Modified, Pro Stock, Stock and Rail. Each type of car has strengths and weaknesses that you will need to improve upon as you play the game. Consider starting with the lower-level cars before moving onto the higher-end ones.

    • 3

Know the tracks before you race them. Certain courses will require slightly different options on your car to make them ideal. Adjust accordingly.

    • 4

Lower tires, since most tracks will be flat. This will lower the chances of vehicles flipping, especially lighter ones.

    • 5

Produce lower gear settings to create quicker accelerations. This will often hinder top speeds, but top speeds are not as important in drag races.

    • 6

Alter the steering wheel settings to adjust how sensitive you'd like it to be. More sensitive controls can be more helpful in certain tracks.

    • 7

Inspect your vehicle in the shop. The game will tell you whether you can take a particular model onto the track. Each class of car will have different rules, though you can change these rules in the options menu.

    • 8

Send your car on a race. No matter what place you came in, decide what options you chose helped and which ones did not help. Go back to the shop and tweak your car as needed.

    • 9

Experiment. You will not get your ideal car on the first try, but continue to return to the shop and make slight adjustments until you get one that's perfect for your racing style.
