Numerous car driving games are available on the PlayStation 2, the second video gaming console created by Sony. These car games vary in terms of their objectives, as some focus on racing while others place emphasis on storyline or combat. Some car races take place on pre-designed tracks, while others occur alongside traffic in the streets.
  1. Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition

    • Rockstar Games released the car racing game Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition for PlayStation 2 in April of 2005. Developed by Rockstar San Diego, the game is rated appropriate for players 10 and up. You start the game as an aspiring street racer who must get help building a car. From here, there are plenty of street races to participate in across multiple cities. As you progress, you unlock new cars and new options for existing cars.

    Need for Speed Most Wanted

    • Electronic Arts released the driving title Need for Speed Most Wanted for PlayStation 2 users in November of 2005. "Most Wanted" is rated suitable for players 13 and over, and it was created by EA Canada. The game centers on a street racing main character who tries to regain his abilities after being swindled in a race. Aside from racing against other competitors in a nighttime setting, you must also make sure not to get into trouble with the police.

    RoadKill

    • Midway published the vehicle combat game RoadKill for PlayStation 2 in October of 2003. RoadKill was made by Terminal Reality and is rated suitable only for mature gamers. After an illness has taken out much of the world's population, your character must battle gangs that have overtaken the remaining cities. To do this, you are given a car that is equipped with multiple weapons. To get more money, vehicles, and weapons, you have to advance through levels.

    Burnout Revenge

    • Electronic Arts released the track racing game Burnout Revenge for PlayStation 2 in September of 2005. Rated acceptable for those 10 and over, Burnout Revenge was developed by Criterion Games. There are multiple cars and tracks to choose from, and each track features several different ways to reach the finish line. Your goal is to increase your driver rank and get gold medals for winning races.
