Attack Item Hints for Naruto Ultimate Ninja 3

The Sony PlayStation 2 game "Naruto Ultimate Ninja 3" is based on the manga and anime series created by Masashi Kishimoto. The game, which features a story original to the game as opposed to reenacting scenes from the TV series, combines fighting game and RPG elements so the game's many characters can level up to become more powerful and use items to attack their opponents in the midst of battle. Other items in the game are used to unlock specific attacks for characters.
  1. Items

    • There are several types of items in "Naruto Ultimate Ninja 3." Players use scrolls to unlock the ability for their characters to use special Ougi attacks. Being able to use Ougi requires not only leveling up to be able to use the ability but also

Jutsu attacks also require unlocking, and players attain these by use of bag items used in interacting with other characters in "RPG Mode," an act called "Dating."

There are some items like shuriken that characters use as weapons in battle. Players must buy these items to be able to use them in battle.

    Buying

    • During the game's "RPG Mode" or "Ultimate Contest" mode, players get to explore Hidden Leaf Village, talk to other characters, and complete 55 different missions. During the free roaming parts of "Ultimate Contest" players can also visit shops and buy items.

The Street Merchant near the gates of the Ninja Academy and the Ramen Shop sells bags you use in interacting with other characters to receive jutsu. In playing the game you will need to buy all of his items, so check back regularly to see whether he has any new items in stock. In the center of town is a woman selling weapons to be equipped and used during battle.

There is also the Scroll Merchant to the southwest of the map where you buy scrolls that unlock your Ougi maneuvers to use in battle. To buy these scrolls you need to collect orange scrolls during the course of "Ultimate Contest" mode and trade for Ougi-enabling scrolls. Once you have all the Ougi scrolls you can sell any additional orange scrolls for 100 Ryo each.

Before starting "Ultimate Contest," players may want to complete "Story Mode" first in order to have more money to spend when it comes time to buy items from the shops. Additionally, players will have more characters to level up during the course of "Ultimate Contest."

    Items Menu

    • Press "Triangle" to access the "Menu" to see what items you have and equip them to characters. In battle, you must press "Square" on your PS2 controller to use the item. To change weapons in battle, press "L1" or "R1" until you have the weapon you want. To use Ouji and Jutsu on characters, you must go to the "Inventory" section of the "Menu" to equip them to your characters.
