Instructions
Download and install ADXUtil from the official website. The web page is referenced in the Resources section. Install the application using the default installation settings.
Verify that the game you want to obtain the soundtrack from has an ADX soundtrack. This is usually noted on the back side of the casing, or toward the back of the game manual included in the casing.
Start up the ADXUtil application from the Windows Start Menu. Click "Start" > "Program Files" > "ADXUtil" > "ADXUtil" to load the application. The program will start up in a new window.
Insert your PlayStation 2 game into your optical disk drive.
Click on "File" > "Open Archive" on the ADXUtil top pull-down menu. A new file browser window will appear in which you can navigate and select the disk archive you want to extract.
Browse to "My Computer" and double-click on your PlayStation 2 game disk to navigate the contents of it. There will be a file ending in ".asf", which is the archive file for the music. Double-click it to select and open the archive in ADXUtil.
Click "File" > "Settings" from the top pull-down menu. There will be three output formats: ADX, MP3 and WAV. Select MP3 or WAV if you want to extract the music in a file format that is readable on common media player applications.
Click on "Commands" > "Extract to the Folder ..." from the top pull-down menu to bring up a new file browser window. Select a location to which you want to extract your music, and click "OK" to extract the files.
