Activision and Neversoft Entertainment combined to release "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4" for the PlayStation 2 console in October 2002. The game is rated suitable for players 13 and up. While previous games in the "Tony Hawk" skating series challenged players to perform tasks in a time limit, "Pro Skater 4" gives gamers larger levels and no set time constraints. Players can create their own skater and accomplish goals to lead him to a professional career.
Yanya Caballista: City Skater
Koei released "Yanya Caballista: City Skater" for the PlayStation 2 system in October 2001. Rated suitable for gamers of all ages, "City Skater" was developed by Cave. "City Skater" features a group of animated skateboarding characters who must band together to eliminate aliens in their hometown. Rather than have players control the action traditionally, the game has an attachment that is added to the PlayStation 2 controller to provide additional moves.
ESPN X Games Skateboarding
Konami released "ESPN X Games Skateboarding" for the PlayStation 2 in August 2001. "X Games Skateboarding" was created by KCEO and is rated acceptable for everyone. Players can compete in levels with set objectives or participate in events that are featured in ESPN's Summer X Games competitions. Gamers can skate on ramps in a skate park or try their hand at street competitions where anything can be used to create a trick.
