How to Copy a Game to PS2 Hard Drive

PlayStation 2 is similar to a home computer in the way it can read, interpret, store and recall data. Without a proper hard drive, the PlayStation needs to read data off of a disc to interpret it. With a network adapter, a device designed for internet connection, it is possible to install a writable hard drive into the console so that discs no longer are needed for games.

Things You'll Need

  • 3/16 flat head screwdriver

Instructions

    • 1

Hold the hard drive to the network adapter. Find the available space in which it can be slid into the device. When inside the network adapter, the hard drive should fit firmly.

    • 2

Lay the console flat and install the network adapter on the back side. To do this, line up the network adapter with the two screw slots on the back of the system and tighten the screws. When correctly attached, the network adapter should rest firmly against the back of the console.

    • 3

Turn on the PlayStation and insert the HDLoader disc. Select the disc from the console's menu.

    • 4

Install the hard drive software from the disc. Once done, remove the disc and insert the desired game.
