How to Clean PS2 Games at Home

Nothing is more frustrating to a gamer than a disk read error or for a game to skip or freeze in the middle of a gameplay session. These issues can be caused by dirty or scratched disks. Fortunately, you can use a common household item, toothpaste, to clean your PS2 game disks. The toothpaste does double duty by not only cleaning the disk, but buffing out scratches, too. You can get your PS2 games clean and in working order in just a few minutes.

Instructions

    • 1

Clean the data side of the disk with the lint-free cloth starting at the center of the disk and wipe in a straight line toward the outer edge of the disk.

    • 2

Put a small amount of toothpaste on your finger tips and on the data side of the disk using the same method you used with the lint-free cloth.

    • 3

Rinse the toothpaste off of the disk using warm water. Make sure there is no toothpaste residue left on the disk.

    • 4

Dry the disk with the lint-free cloth. Make sure the disk is completely dry before you load it into your PS2.
