How to Get Unlimited Health on Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition

Released in 2006 for the PlayStation 2, "Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition" added several bonus features to the pre-existing "Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening." The game told the beginnings of demon hunter Dante's feud with his brother Vergil, and was generally favored by critics, according to review aggregating website Metacritic.com. The game was also considered by many to be brutally difficult, so a little help in the way of unlimited health could aid novice players. There are ultimately two ways to get unlimited health in the game: one for purists and one for those who want an easier method.

Instructions

Difficult Method

  Complete the game on Hard mode. This unlocks the Very Hard and Dante Must Die modes. You must complete both modes to unlock the outfit necessary for unlimited health.

  Start and complete a new game on Very Hard mode. You must complete Very Hard mode before completing Dante Must Die mode to unlock unlimited health.

  Begin a new game on the Dante Must Die difficulty level. Complete the game to unlock a variety of new costumes for Dante. One of those is the Super Sparda outfit. The Super Sparda outfit grants Dante unlimited Devil Trigger powers. While using your Devil Trigger, Dante's health will regenerate, effectively giving you unlimited health.

  Begin a new game on any difficulty level you would like and choose the Super Sparda outfit to use unlimited health.
Easy Method

  Boot up the game and go to the main menu.

  Hold "R1," "R2," L1 and L2 at the same time. While still holding the buttons, press the D-pad up and to the left and press the left analog sticks down and to the right. Hold until you hear a voice on screen say "Devil May Cry." This unlocks all of the possible unlockables in the game, including the Super Sparda outfit.

  Begin a new game and select the Super Sparda outfit to take advantage of unlimted health and Devil Trigger powers.
