Address Your Team's Needs
Look at your team's stats. If you have no players with high defensive stats such as stealing and blocking, try to recruit defensive minded players. If your team needs some shooters, recruit them. Do not recruit players just because they have a good overall. Look for certain skills. Not everyone on the team has to be a Michael Jordan type.
Follow Many Players
Try and talk to as many players as you can even though you will be locked between one to four scholarships per team, depending on the team. Broaden your recruiting so that if one of the players on your list gets picked up by another team, you will not be scrambling to find a replacement. Around five is a good number.
Keeping Prospects Close
Keep in contact with prospective players, even if they have liking for your college. E-mail them and have meetings with their family. Keep in contact because if a player feels like they are not being taken care of, they might leave.
