How to Install a New Laser On the PlayStation 2 Slim

The Playstation 2 Slim (PS2 Slim) is a less expensive version of the original PS2 that doesn't compromise on game performance. A defective laser in the DVD drive will render the PS2 Slim unable to play game discs and must be repaired. You can save both time and money by replacing the DVD laser diode yourself with one purchased from a laser supply shop. The modular design of the PS2 Slim makes accessing the DVD drive a straightforward process, although you will have voided Sony's warranty by doing so.
