PS2 Hot Wheels Games

Hot Wheels are a popular brand of toy cars created by Mattel. Sony's PlayStation 2 video gaming console boasts four different games featuring Hot Wheels cars. Among these games are "Hot Wheels Stunt Track Challenge," "Hot Wheels Velocity X," "Hot Wheels World Race," and "Hot Wheels: Beat That." All four Hot Wheels games for PlayStation 2 challenge players to compete in races and stunts while driving through different courses, sometimes mixing the two.
  1. "Hot Wheels: Velocity X"

    • "Hot Wheels Velocity X" was released by THQ in November 2002 for the PlayStation 2, Nintendo GameCube, and PC. The main character in the single-player mode of "Velocity X" is Max Justice, and he must find a stolen formula. Justice must use various Hot Wheels cars to get the formula back, and the cars even have weapons to help fend off opponents. "Velocity X" also features three multiplayer modes and other extras such as Battle mode.

    Hot Wheels World Race

    • "Hot Wheels World Race" hit stores in October 2003 courtesy of THQ. "World Race" is available for PlayStation 2, PC, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo GameCube, and Xbox. Players take on others across several different racing courses around the world in World Race, and each course is littered with difficult terrain and objectives. There are 35 total Hot Wheels cars available in the game, and each racer handles the cars differently. The three levels of difficulty in World Race are Rookie, Veteran, and Elite, and each race is judged using a points system that tallies scores and adds them up at the end of several matches.

    "Hot Wheels Stunt Track Challenge"

    • THQ released "Hot Wheels Stunt Track Challenge" for PlayStation 2, PC, Game Boy Advance, and Xbox in November 2004. "Stunt Track Challenge" requires players to race through different tracks while avoiding obstacles and performing difficult tricks to score extra points. Players can also compete against others around the world by engaging in online multiplayer matches. "Stunt Track Challenge" also supports the ability to compete in races with up to six total players.

    Hot Wheels: Beat That!

    • "Hot Wheels: Beat That!," which was developed by Activision, came out for the Nintendo DS, Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 2, PC, and Xbox 360 in September 2007. "Beat That!" lets players race Hot Wheels cars against opponents in many different areas, and the toy cars actually appear small. Players can choose between Easy, Medium, and Hard difficulty levels, and there are multiple ways to play. Quick Race allows players to race once, Eliminator gets rid of cars that fall behind in races, and Rampage allows for weapon usage.
