How to Burn PS2 Games Onto a Disc From Computer

Though its heydey has since come and gone, the PlayStation 2 still has one of the most impressive game libraries of all time, from greats like the entries in the God of War and the Final Fantasy series to cult hits like Shadow of the Colossus and Katamari Damacy. If you have a copy of one of these games, it's a good idea to back it up, and to do that, you'll need to burn a new one.

Things You'll Need

  • Computer with DVD burner (dual-layer if necessary)
  • Blank recordable DVD (dual-layer if necessary)
  • ISO file

Instructions

    • 1

Obtain your ISO file. This file could already be stored on your computer. If you don't have it, you can make it from your copy of the game by using DVD Decrypter (see Resources). Insert your disc and then open DVD Decrypter. Go to "Mode," then "ISO," then "Read." This will create an ISO file of your game.

    • 2

Insert the blank DVD into the DVD burner drive.

    • 3

Ready the ISO. Go to "Mode" again, then "ISO" again, but this time select "Write." Select the ISO you will be using by using the browse button under the "Source" tab.

    • 4

Set the DVD write speed to 4x.

    • 5

Select the DVD drive you will be using from the dropdown menu under "Destination."

    • 6

Burn the PS2 game. Press the button that has an icon of a hard drive with an arrow toward an icon of a DVD. This will burn the game onto the disc.
