Anime PS2 Game List

The anime style is increasingly popular, in part because of its sleek lines and sometimes extremely vibrant characters. While there are huge number of TV shows and comics floating around, there were also a few video games released for the PS2 console. Some of these were based on TV shows, and some simply mimicked that style brilliantly.
  1. Kingdom Hearts

    • The "Kingdom Hearts" series is one of the most popular games for the PlayStation 2 no matter how you look at it. You play as Sora, a boy whose friend is kidnapped by an opposing army known as the Heartless and who befriends Disney heroes such as Donald and Goofy, who fight alongside him. What really makes this game visually fascinating, is how easily it combines zany Disney characters with a clean anime style, all with a very smooth action feel to it.

    .hack//Infection

    • The ".hack" series is a fairly famous anime title and also a solid role-playing game. These games take place in a simulated massively multiplayer online game where your character hacks in to try determine the cause of a friend's coma. These characters are known by their online avatars as you explore "The World," the game within a game. The game is part of a multipart series, and the plot continues across each chapter of the titles.

    Digimon World 4

    • The "Digimon" series is sometimes considered to be the lesser cousin of the "Pokemon" universe, but savvy fans are aware of the history and other key differences between the two series. In this game, you're a trainer who is given the ability to raise these creatures, and the freedom to explore the world. As the world expands, because your Digimon gets the ability to open new areas, you'll unlock more and more Digimon to train and grow with.

    Katamari Damacy

    • Anime is usually a realistic style, but occasionally there's a more unique look and feel to the game, and such is the case in the smash-hit "Katamari" series--the first of which is "Katamari Damacy." There's no question that this highly stylized game is Japanese, as the plot and the items in the game are simply steeped in Japanese culture. This game follows the adventure of a tiny Prince, whose father--the King of All Cosmos--accidentally destroyed all of the stars. The Prince is then sent to Earth with a Katamari, a ball that picks up anything it touches and wads up a huge ball, with the mission of rebuilding the stars. It's a simple yet addictive game and worth a look for anyone who wants a few silly few hours of gameplay.
