How to Adjust the Color on PS2 Games

When playing video games with your Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2), you may notice that the color isn't to you liking. The color settings can vary depending on the game and the company that produces the game. However, you typically can't edit the actual color settings directly on the PS2 game disk. These color adjustments must be made on your television to compensate for the video game.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the game you want to play into your Sony PS2, and power on the television.

    • 2

Load the game you are playing, or select a new game. Wait for the game to begin before adjusting the color settings.

    • 3

Press the "Menu" button on your TV remote control, then select "Picture." The picture options will appear on the screen.

    • 4

Scroll through the selections, and chose "Color." This is the saturation level of the video game. If you are noticing that colors from one object are bleeding over into the background, this is due to the color level. Adjust the settings to reduce the bleeding.

    • 5

Select "Hue." This adjusts the red and green tones of the screen. Move the settings closer to red to increase the red and reduce the green. Do the opposite to increase the green and reduce the red.

    • 6

Press the "Menu" button again to exit the picture adjustment screen.
