How to Load a PS2 Game on a PS3

Sony electronics has constantly set the bar high for its video game consoles, and with each new model seeks to outdo its biggest rival, Microsoft. Its most recent gaming system, PlayStation 3, boasts impressive graphics, a Blu-ray player and numerous other impressive features. The ability to play old PS2 games on the new PS3 is also included with the new PS3 system, so gamers are still able to play the older games they love. This feature, however, only works with certain PS3 models, and it is important to buy the right one if you want to play PS2 games on it.

Instructions

    • 1

Buy one of the specified PS3 models. The 20 GB or 60 NTSC models are the highest recommended for playing PS2 games. Any model not listed will not support or load older PS2 games.

    • 2

Insert the PS2 game into the disc slot in the PS3. The game should load the same way it normally would on the PS2.

    • 3

Play the PS2 game, using the controller. PS3 controllers are identical to the PS2 ones, so all the buttons and maneuvers will be the same.
