How to Unlock the Guitars in Guitar Hero 3 PS2

"Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock" is the first entry in the series to be developed by Neversoft. It was released for the PlayStation 2 (PS2) in 2007. Players attempt to accurately play the proper notes of each song as they appear on the screen. Players earn a rating between 3 and 5 stars based on how well the song is played. In Career mode, the player earns money to unlock new guitars. Several guitars also feature other requirements before being available in the store to purchase.

Instructions

- 1
  Select Career mode from the "Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock" main menu. Start a new career or load an existing one.

  Select Easy mode. Beat every song in the set list. This will unlock the Moon Shot guitar for purchase at the shop for $2,000.

  Replay any song on Easy with a 3- or 4-star rating. Make sure you have a 5-star rating in each song. This will unlock the Bat Guitar for purchase for $2,000.

  Go back to the difficulty selection menu and select Medium. Beat every song in the set list. This will unlock the Saint George for purchase for $2,000.

  Go to the Store and buy Slash, Tom Morello, and Lou from the characters section. This will unlock the Obliviaxe, '59 Les Paul and Arm the Homeless for use. It will cost $35,000 to unlock all three characters.

  Replay any song on Medium with a 3- or 4-star rating. Get 5 stars on each song in Medium. This will unlock the Jolly Rodger for purchase for $2,000.

  Select Hard from the Career mode difficulty menu. Beat every song in the set list. This will unlock the Rojimbo for $2,000.

  Select Expert from the Career mode difficulty menu. Beat every song in the set list. This will unlock the Distant Visitor for $2,000.

  Go back to Hard mode and replay each song until you have a 5-star rating for each song. This will unlock the Tiki Fortune for $2,000.

  Go back to Expert mode and replay each song until you have a 5-star rating for every song. This will unlock the El Jefe. You do not need to purchase this guitar from the store to use it.

  Go back to the Career mode menu and select Co-Op Career from the menu. Beat every song in the set list. You need a second player to complete the songs in this mode. This will unlock the Nemesis 13. You do not need to purchase this guitar to use it.
- 12
  Replay the Co-Op Career songs to earn a 5-star rating on each one. Both players must select the Expert difficulty level for it to be possible to earn this rating. This will unlock the Neversoft Skateboard Guitar. This guitar does not need to be purchased to be used.
