How to Put PS2 Games on Hard Drive

You may have had to deal with a scratched PlayStation 2 disc at some point in your life and know how much of an annoyance it can be. These scratches can cause games to be unplayable and can be a big headache after you shelled out money for an expensive title. A great way to ensure scratches do not ruin your gaming life is to back up your titles to your personal computer hard drive.

  • DVD Ripping Software
  • PS2 Game CD (That you want to save to the hard drive).
  • PC CD Drive

Instructions

      Download a DVD Ripping program. A good program to try is Magic DVD Ripper, but almost any ripping software will work.

      Install and run Magic DVD Ripper, then click the "Backup" tab in the program.

      Place the PS2 game CD into your personal computer CD Drive.

      Find and select the option titled "Copy Disc Fully."

      Check the "Source" option ensure that your personal computer CD drive is selected.

      Look under the "Destination" section and click the small folder icon. Choose the destination where you would like Magic DVD Ripper to save the ripped file.

      Click the "Start" button located near the bottom of the program window and the program will start ripping your DVD.

      Wait until the program finishes ripping your selection and then locate the folder that you assigned as your destination.

      Make sure that the file is intact and rename it something easy like "PS2BackupGameName" and keep it in a safe place.
