Go to a search engine, such as Yahoo or Google, and type "Free McBoot". Make sure to find the already compiled version or Newbie Package. Download and save to the usb flash drive.
On your search engine type in ULAUNCH and download the rar file. Make sure it contains the uncompressed BOOT.ELF. Extract BOOT.ELF from the ULAUNCH rar file u downloaded and rename it to DRIVING.ELF
Make an ISO image file of 007 Agent Under Fire using DVD Decrypter or Image Burn. Use Apache v1.1 to open the ISO image you made. Highlight DRIVING.ELF in Apache on your right side. Select ISO tools from the tab above. Now select "Change TOC" for the selected file, change the size "DEC" to 915196, don't change the LBA.
With DRIVING.ELF still highlighted select ISO tools again. Now select "update selected file". Select the DRIVING.ELF (the file that you renamed) it will say selected file replaced. Burn the edited ISO to a disk using DVD Decrypter or Image Burn.
Put the original game , 007 Agent Under Fire back into your PS2. Play the game until you make it to the second level which is the driving level and save your game.
Return to the main menu and use swap trick method to replace original PS2 disk with burned disk. The swap trick methods are different for fat and slim PS2. To learn more about the swap trick methods search for them using your choice of search engines.
With burned disk successfully swapped, load driving level from your saved game. This should boot ULAUNCH. Insert usb flash drive, and push O to got to file browser. With file browser open go down to mass and push O again. Go down and find freemcboot.elf and push O and it will boot free McBoot config.
Insert memory card into slot one and select the option to format the memory card. Once memory card is formatted, select normal install. This will put the necessary files directly on the memory card.
Now remove the disk from your PS2 and restart the system. Now at the browser screen you should see more options, such as ULAUNCH, HDLOADER, ESR, and SMS player. Now Enjoy your own SoftModed PS2!
