  Connect your Playstation 2 console to your internet connection using a network cable. Make sure one end is connected into your console, with the other end connected to the cable or DSL modem.

  Configure your PlayStation 2 network. Enter the name of your network. The network should represent where you'll use the connection, such as in your home or office. If you have an Internet Service Provider, proceed by hitting the X button on your PlayStation 2 controller.

  Indicate whether you're using a DSL or cable Internet connection. Press X. Go to the next screen.

  Highlight the option for automatic settings. Press x. If your DSL requires a user ID and password to operate, enter it in the system.

  Press X to save your Internet data once the console indicates that an Internet connection has been established. Put your game of choice in your PS2 console. Once your game loads to the menu screen, click the on line menu option. Sign into your PlayStation account. Wait while the game loads your online setting and establishes your connection. The console informs you that you're logged on to the PlayStation network. You can now play your PS2 game online with or against other gamers.
