How to Defeat Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts

Preparation

  Make sure Sora's character is at Level 60. Sora will be fighting this battle alone.

  Equip a keyblade that will boost your Magic Points (like Spellbinder, Oathkeeper or Lionheart). Equip MP Rage, MP Haste and any accessories that increase your Magic and Hit Points. Have all the Elixirs and Ethers you can carry.

  Use Aero and Cure as two of your shortcuts. You won't need the third shortcut.

Attack

  Cast Aero to protect yourself as soon as the battle starts. Lock onto Sephiroth and hit him multiple times for a full combo. He will then vanish, reappear and strike without warning, so watch out.

• 5

  Look for him to change his attack when his hit point gauge goes down to the pink level. He will move much faster and be harder to hit, so wait for the right time and lock on to him.

  Remain patient, gradually wearing his Hit Points down. At first, it won't seem like you're hurting him, because his Hit Points surpass the purple level of the gauge. You'll see it go down eventually, and you'll defeat him.

Defense

• 7

  Prevent him from using his "Sin Harvest Angel" attack, which reduces your hit and magic points to 0 wherever you are. Lock on him and use Superglide to stop him. If you can't, use an Elixer as soon as the attack hits you.

  Prepare for his "Power" attack, where he goes into a sword-swinging frenzy. Cast Aero, avoid him if you can and use Curaga non-stop Watch out for the shockwave he'll send out at the end.

• 9

  Look out for one last attack when Sephiroth becomes invincible and sends a flurry of stones spinning towards you. This attack won't be a big problem if you use Aero. Watch out for the meteor at the end.
