Know his strengths. Magoichi has immense power in his corner, as well as a decent defense and an awesome ranged attack. Boost his charge attack skills as well as his power to really get him cracking!
Spray all around! Magoichi's primary charge attack is great at thinning out huge mobs. It shoots all around him and has a relatively short charge time.
Blast 'em! Magoichi's third charge attack ends with a big boom that can take out half a dozen enemies in a single blast. Use it as often as possible, but be careful no one is behind you when you do it, the charge time is a bit long.
Face the front. When using Magoichi's musou attack, try and be right in front of a large mob. His blast has a fairly large radius, but he turns VERY slowly when using his musou attack. It may be beneficial to try using his regular attacks in musou mode instead of the musou attack.
Give him a horse. Magoichi may not be as slow as Goemon or Shingen, but he's no speed demon. The tengu sandals help a little, but on large maps with time constraints, you'll want the Matsukaze.
Rattle them off! Because Magoichi's musou attack is great at clearing big crowds, give him the Vixen Tail and avoid the Musou Stone. This will let you blast his musou more often.
